The Akarbandh is a survey-settlement record that fixes the assessment and classification of survey numbers in a village. It complements the Tippani and helps confirm extent and land type.

What it contains

For each survey number it records the area, classification (such as dry or wet) and the land revenue assessment fixed at settlement.

Why it is used

Surveyors and buyers use the Akarbandh alongside the Tippani to verify the recorded extent and to reconcile any differences with the RTC.

No. The RTC is the current record of rights and crops; the Akarbandh is a settlement record of classification and assessment.
