These three identifiers pinpoint a parcel of land. Confusing them leads to ordering the wrong record. Here is what each one means.

Survey number

The survey number is the unique id given to a parcel of land during the cadastral survey of a village. It is the starting point for every land record.

Hissa number

When a survey number is sub-divided among owners, each share gets a hissa number (e.g. *42/1*, *42/2*). The hissa identifies your specific portion.

Surnoc

Surnoc (sub-division of survey number with owner code) is an internal code Bhoomi uses to distinguish entries within a survey number — often shown as * when there is a single holding.
