Legal Documentation · 4 min read · By SANAD Team
A rectification (or correction) deed corrects genuine mistakes — such as a misspelt name, a wrong survey number or an area error — in an already-registered document.
What it corrects
Clerical and factual errors that both parties agree were mistakes, such as typographical errors in names, extents or boundaries.
Limits
It cannot be used to change the substance of the deal or to introduce new terms. Both parties must consent to the correction.
Frequently asked questions
Do both parties need to sign?
Yes — a rectification deed generally requires the consent of the original parties and is registered like the original.
