Turning one survey number into several parcels is a defined process. Here is the sequence from application to new records.

Survey sub-division (phodi) converts one survey number into multiple, independently measured parcels. Understanding the sequence helps owners plan partitions and sales.
Application and basis
The owner(s) apply with the ownership documents and the basis for division — a partition deed, a sale of a portion, or a family arrangement.
Field measurement
A surveyor measures the parcel and marks the new sub-divisions on the ground, preparing a fresh sketch for each hissa.
Record update
The department issues new sub-division numbers and updates the records so each parcel stands on its own.

Frequently asked questions
Do all co-owners need to agree?
Generally yes, or there must be a legal basis such as a partition decree. Disputes can delay sub-division.
